From the pivotal Supreme Court case - Janus v. AFSCME, to AFSCME's 42nd International Convention, to the 2018 Midterm Elections - I worked on a number of critical projects aimed at telling the stories of America's working people.

Designing for a case that reached the Supreme Court. AFSCME is the nation's largest public-service labor union, and the digital work supported communications tied to the 2018 Janus v. AFSCME Supreme Court case. The stakes weren't aesthetic — they were institutional. The work had to carry the weight and clarity that a national audience and a national moment demanded.

Clarity as authority guided the design process, emphasizing legibility, message hierarchy, and accessibility over decoration to ensure the union’s position was clearly communicated to members, the press, and the public. AFSCME’s new digital toolkit empowered its thousands of employees nationwide to create personalized, visually appealing flyers, mailers, tri-folds, and more without needing design tools. I was responsible for prototyping and designing user-facing templates using InDesign and Photoshop, then converting them into fully functional coded pieces. Once the designs were ready, employees could choose from over 20 templates and customize them with information, pictures, and logos as needed.
